What is Point of Contact?
Point of Contact is the information system designed by and for legislative advocacy professionals. It serves both as a conventional legislative information system, offering information about legislators and their staffs, bill histories, sponsorships and voting information, committee memberships, an activist database and more as well as being a contact management system, allowing you to record and manage all of your interactions with legislators.
You can capture face-to-face meetings, letters, e-mails, faxes, telephone conversations, contributions, recommendations and anything else you can think of. And then you can categorize these Contacts by Issue, by Bill, by Staff Person and by who was contacted. So you can get a complete picture of your activities.
How will Point of Contact make our Legislative Advocacy Program more effective?
Imagine being able to look at every contact, communication, contribution and endorsement related to an issue or a bill with a couple of mouse clicks. You can verify that your persuasion strategy is being carried out by seeing all the work your staff is doing on an issue or a bill. By using the keyword search feature, you can look for historical records of contacts also.
What else can I do?
You can maintain a complete Government Relations staff directory in Point of Contact with home and work addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses. You can create a directory of useful websites for your staff to share.

Because Point of Contact is a hosted web application you never have to worry about installing software, installing upgrades, troubleshooting problems, backing up your data, making sure your data is secure and accessible and making sure you have Point of Contact installed on the computer you are using. As long as you have a computer with an Internet connection, you can use Point of Contact anywhere, at any time.
If access is that easy, is the application and my data secure?
You access Point of Contact with a unique Username and Password. All data transactions in Point of Contact are conducted using secure 128 bit encrypted technology. Our servers use the latest security techniques and our network is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by trained and skilled network technicians.
If the data and the application are hosted, will I always be able to get to my information?
We guarantee a minimum of 99.8% uptime. That means our servers, networks and attached services will be available to you at least 99.8% of the time. You will be able to access your data when you need it. We use top of the line network hardware and software and we have two redundant data centers so if one goes down, the other will be available.
How is Point of Contact sold?
Point of Contact is a subscription service. You pay a yearly fee for access. For this fee you get the use of our Contact Management software, our Legislative Directory service, our Bill tracking service, unlimited users, free training and the data backup and support services.
